PATH Biobank is a non-profit biobank in Germany, organized as a foundation under public law. The biobank was founded by breast cancer survivors in 2002 with the intention to support breast cancer research.
PATH has set up a unique patient-driven biobank for breast cancer and collects patient-donated high-quality tissue and serum specimens that are processed according to strictly standardized protocols. Scientists from academic institutions and industry can receive samples and annotating data sets for patient-oriented projects in breast cancer research.
PATH coordinates a network of four certified breast cancer centers in Germany.

PATH - Patients’ Tumor Bank of Hope, is a non-profit foundation and the world's only tumor biobank by patients for patients. The members of the PATH board are very active in public – giving lectures, interviews and commentaries to promote the patients' concerns. We have compiled a selection of our contributions in our press album PATH-Talk.
The large cancer community gets its competence and impact from patients’ own experience. This makes an indispensable pillar of patient participation and the basis for strong self-help.
